Independent OSINT Intelligence Platform — Established 2026
Iran Monitor is an independent, open-source intelligence (OSINT) dashboard dedicated to providing transparent, accurate, and real-time monitoring of events in Iran. In an era of information overload and conflicting narratives, Iran Monitor cuts through the noise to deliver verified, structured intelligence drawn entirely from publicly available sources.
The platform was created to address a critical gap: while individual data points about Iran exist across dozens of scattered sources — news wires, social media, flight trackers, satellite imagery, economic feeds — no single platform aggregated and contextualized them in real time. Iran Monitor fills that gap.
Real-time IRR/USD exchange rates (official and black market), Brent crude oil prices, and economic volatility metrics that signal internal stability shifts.
Live monitoring of Iranian airspace openings/closures via NOTAMs and the Strait of Hormuz maritime corridor status, critical for understanding military posture and trade flow.
Province-level internet availability metrics across Iran, including Tehran, Isfahan, Khuzestan, Hormozgan, Kermanshah, Bushehr, and Sistan-Baluchestan. Internet shutdowns are historically correlated with internal unrest or military operations.
Aggregated intelligence signals from IMINT (imagery), SOCMINT (social media), ADS-B (flight tracking), AIS (maritime), WEBINT (web intelligence), and SIGINT sources, categorized by severity and geographic location.
Satellite-detected thermal anomalies from NASA's Fire Information for Resource Management System (FIRMS), cross-referenced with known military and infrastructure sites to identify kinetic events.
Capability Degradation Index (CDI) assessments for IRGC, Artesh, Basij, government, and infrastructure power centers across all 31 Iranian provinces, tracking operational readiness over time.
Real-time monitoring of Iranian military and government leadership status, including confirmed eliminations and succession changes across IRGC, Artesh, and government hierarchies.
Multi-dimensional protest intensity assessments covering geographic-civil, cyber-network, and economic dimensions, benchmarked against historical baselines.
Iran Monitor employs a multi-layered intelligence methodology that combines automated data aggregation with expert human analysis. Our approach follows established OSINT tradecraft principles:
Data is collected from over a dozen public sources including international news APIs, social media platforms (X/Twitter, Telegram), aviation tracking services, maritime AIS data, NASA satellite feeds, and financial market APIs. All sources are publicly accessible and free to use.
Raw data is normalized into structured intelligence signals with standardized severity ratings (Info, Warning, Alert, Critical), geographic tagging to specific Iranian provinces, and temporal alignment. Duplicate signals are automatically filtered.
The Capability Degradation Index (CDI) assesses each power center across five vectors: Infrastructure (facilities, energy, supply lines), Assets (hardware, platforms, inventory), Human Capital (leadership, personnel, morale), Command & Control (communications, decision speed), and Functionality (mission execution, operational output). These vectors are weighted and combined to produce an overall readiness percentage.
Processed intelligence is presented through interactive maps, real-time dashboards, and structured feeds. Data is refreshed continuously with configurable update intervals. Intelligence summaries are generated every 4 hours and distributed to subscribers via email.
Iran Monitor serves a diverse audience of professionals and citizens who need timely, reliable information about events in Iran:
Iran Monitor is non-partisan and does not represent any government, political organization, military, intelligence agency, or movement. The platform is created and maintained by Ziv Shekhovitski, a private individual committed to open information.
We adhere to the following principles:
Iran Monitor is built on modern web technologies and runs 24/7 with automated data pipelines. The dashboard features real-time data subscriptions, interactive SVG-based geographic maps, automated intelligence summarization using advanced AI models, and email-based intelligence report distribution. The platform is designed for both desktop and mobile use.
